Those who don't have a Nintendo handheld games console will probably be surprised by today's news that the company is finally releasing an MP3 player for them. "You mean they don't already work as music machines?" PSP fanboys all over the world shout in unison. That's right, the DS Lite, Game Boy Advance SP and Game Boy Micro have all gained the ability to play songs thanks to the Nintendo MP3 Player.
However, Nintendo isn't content adding this ability later than its big rival – it also wants to make it more difficult to use and more expensive.
Anyone wanting to buy the Nintendo MP3 Player when it launches across Europe on 8 December will need a crisp £20 in their wallet.
And unlike the Sony PSP – which connects to a PC using a USB lead to add songs to a memory card – Nintendo users will need to buy a card reader for their computer and add content that way.
