Plen robotIf the stuff of Science fiction is to be believed it wont be too long before robots and humans live side by side. Well if they’re anything like the Plen robot – which has now gone on sale – we welcome them with open arms.

Billed as a ‘Desktop Hobby Robot’ the Plen may not be the all dancing human-size Honda Asimo but it certainly is cute and can even be controlled by your mobile phone via bluetooth.

It has eighteen degrees of movement meaning it is highly flexible and has motion sensors making sure it doesn’t stumble around like a press hack stumbling out of a Soho bar.

Able to perform complex movements and even use a skateboard it will no doubt be high on the list of must-have items for any robotically fascinated technophile, assuming they have a small fortune to burn.

The Plen Desktop Robot is now available from Audiocubes for $2,399 (£1,220). But be quick as at the moment they are part of a limited edition of 50.
