allergy_care_-_full_shot.jpgAbsolute Gadget was at the launch of the LG Compressor, which will no doubt be hoping to steal Dyson's thunder as king of the bag-less dirt destroyers. Judging by what we saw today the big ‘D' has some serious competition.

Being billed as ‘The World's first dust compression vacuum cleaner the LG Compressor is hoping to break new ground in the dust eating market.

Instead of simply storing dust in a container the LG's unit compresses it into small triangular wedges. It does this via the ‘RotaBlade' which rotates from side to side squeezing the dust into small clumps.

Nice, we thought. But what's the point? Apparently doing this enables up to four times more dust to be stored than that of their competitors before it has to be emptied. Not only will your dirt be compressed into slightly more aesthetically pleasing clumps, but it's more hygienic.

When regular bag-less vacuum cleaners are emptied the dust usually falls out rapidly, and all over the place meaning dust particles escape back into the atmosphere. Because the compressor forms solid dust cubes they are easier to dispose of, benefiting those with allergies.

lg_pet_care.jpgIt also comes with a built-in tool allowing you to clean sofas, curtains and wooden furniture more conveniently, as well as a nozzle for carpets and wooden floors with impressive suction as we found out.

The LG Compressor will cost up to £200 depending on the model from a choice of ‘Compressor', ‘Compressor PetCare' or ‘AllergyCare'. It will be available in May.
