Nanomars fingerprint doorlock (C) The InquirerIt seems there could be someone working at Nanomars that would make a dream Dragon’s Den contestant. Not only has the company been knocking out solar-powered backpacks, but it has also devised a fingerprint ID system for locking and unlocking doors.

The device was once again spotted by a journalist on The Inquirer doing the rounds at the Computex computer show.

The unit comes with two parts, one of which lives inside and the other which – you’ve guessed it – lives outside.

Plonk your finger down on the reader and as long as you are who you think you are the door will open.

Nanomars sells the security devices for around $400 (£203) a pair.

The company also makes a simpler version using only one piece and no LCD for around $150 (£76).
