Sony talks big on LCD TVs

Sony LCD TVSony has unveiled its lineup of HD flat-screen TVs that will assault the Christmas market, including a 70-inch beast. The new range of 15 LCD screens stretch from a 40-inch (102cm) model up to 70 inches.

The full high-definition televisions are expected to go on sale from 20 November 2007.

The entire range of new HD TVs will only be available in Japan, but the company plans to launch similarly-sized models in other markets around the world.

The sets include:
* Improved motion-capture and colour to display clearer digital images
* A remote control that works no matter where you point it.

As well as its range of televisions, Sony also showed off a device that lets Japanese users download and watch video from the internet.
