A company dedicated to designing and manufacturing book PCs, net PCs and point of sale PCs has come up with the ultimate bit of kit to withstand the British Summer – a waterproof computer. Flytech showed the metal panel PC off at the Taitronics Autumn 2007 show in Tapei, Taiwan.

The K790 series has a touch-screen display, making it useful for multiple outdoor purposes such as a kiosks, digital advertising boards or even a regular desktop PC.

It contains an Intel Celeron CPU and has a 2.5-inch hard disk contained in a 60mm-thick stainless frame.

Four screen sizes are available, starting at 12-inches and stretching through, 15, 17 and 19-inches.

Global news service AVING got the scoop.
