It’s often said that the best things in life, such as friendship and love, are free (awww). But according to O2, friendship costs the average Brit over £482 a year. The company’s newly launched “Your O2 Numbers” service for pre-pay customers promises to cut that cost.
Your O2 Numbers allows pre-pay customers a mix of 1,000 minutes or texts a month to 10 of your bestest-ever friends in the whole wide world, for just five quid, as long as they’re on O2. “O2 recognises the cost of friendship is spiralling,” Sally Cowdry, O2’s UK marketing director, told hundreds of her closest journo pals. “We want our customers to enjoy the benefits of calling their nearest and dearest on a regular basis, without having to worry about how much it will cost them.” “For just £5 a month, O2 pre-pay customers can benefit from up to £100 worth of savings, so they can spend more on their friends elsewhere, or heaven forbid, even on themselves!” she added. If you can’t decide who’s on your list, O2 can suggest who to pick based on your recent calls. That way if anyone complains of being left off, you can blame O2. |
