Well not exactly (unless you have downloaded the complete back-catalogue of Roy "Chubby" Brown onto your mobile), but Gear4 has launched a new FM transmitter that will allow you to stream music from your Bluetooth-enabled phone to your in-car radio. Called BluFM, the device also pairs up with your mobile phone to let you take calls hands-free over your car stereo. The BluFM takes in-car FM transmitters to the next level, by integrating Bluetooth technology, enabling you to take phone calls from your mobile phone completely hands free! Tom Dudderidge, managing director of GEAR4, said that like most people today, he needs to be available to take phone calls even when he's driving. "Hands-free kits ensure accessibility for people who are always on the go. BluFM not only allows you to take those important phone calls but also enables you to listen to your own music and all through your car stereo."
Pair it up with a Bluetooth mobile phone and BluFM will interrupt
your music with a ring tone for incoming calls and allow you to take
the call over the car stereo. It has a built in microphone to pick up
your voice and transmit it over the radio and features DSP (Digital
Signal Processing) technology for echo cancellation. Plus, once your
call is finished, your tunes will kick back in automatically. With a
Bluetooth stereo (A2DP) mobile phone, pair it up with the BluFM for
wireless music AND hands-free calls from the same device! The FM transmitter function is compatible with any portable music player. Simply plug the BluFM into your cigarette lighter, use the 3.5mm audio cable provided to link it to your iPod or other portable music player, then choose an available frequency and listen away wirelessly. Features:
The transmitter goes on sale at £49.99. More details here.
