Called the Kenbuster (Why? We don't know either as it doesn't actually
prevent you from paying any charge at all!) is a small device fitted
with a GPS receiver and a mobile data transmitter that pays
automatically pays the congestion charge when you go into the zone -
you need never to have to have any contact with Ken Livingstone ever
again. Created by a London motorist, jaded by extortionate fines imposed for forgetting to pay the congestion charge, the KenBuster has been designed to offer London commuters a sense of empowerment against the system (so it said on the press release puff we were given!) Matthew McCluskey, Inventor of the device and Managing Director of the KenBuster company said "KenBuster understands that London traffic during certain hours can be problematic. However it is the fine, the judgement and the penalty for forgetting that we disagree with." Basically, it's a device for forgetful people. And at £199 for the device and a lifetime subscription or £49.99 for the unit, and £8 a month (12 month contract), we may just forget to order one.
