The O2 Xda. We weren't a big fan of these when they first hit the scene, but the little fellas have grown on us as they've improved. And now O2 has added GPS to a keyboard-fitted model to bring them even more up to date.
The Xda Stellar is the first in the range to come with both integrated sat-nav and a full QWERTY keyboard, which O2 says is "essential for email and messaging, making it the perfect device for those who want a compact, stylish phone that goes the extra mile". The device boasts a slide-out keyboard and colour touch screen that tilts for the perfect reading angle, so it's not just business users who will fancy putting one in their suit pocket. It also comes bundled with CoPilot Live 7 satellite navigation software, although customers will need to buy a sat-nav pack to make use of the in-built GPS. The O2 Xda Stellar backs up its 3G connectivity with Wi-Fi support and can handle messaging from Microsoft Direct Push Email, BlackBerry Connect and Good Mobile Solutions. Still not convinced? Well what if we told you it uses Windows Mobile 6; offers video telephony; a business card reader; MP3 player; 3-megapixel camera; and has the ability to create, edit and save Microsoft Office documents? The Stellar is also quad band - so it's great for business travellers who do more than go up and down the M1. "To date, the Xda range has been well received by our customers and we are confident that the Xda Stellar will be no exception," said Ben Dowd, general manager of business sales at O2 UK. "From the sleek design to the full keyboard, the Xda Stellar is the perfect device for customers who crave style as well as functionality." The O2 Xda Stellar should be on sale today at a range of prices subject to tariff, although it hasn't shown up on O2's shopping site yet.
