We're a curious (and cheap) lot here at Absolute Gadget, so when someone tells us there's a great deal going on a product we want to ask that all important question: how much? This is certainly the case with what could be every home's first leg up onto the high definition ladder... But is there any chance of finding out what the "knockout" and "incredible" price of the Venturer SHD7001 standalone HD-DVD player is?
"Unfortunately not," a spokeswoman tells us.
"Not even I know. I have been told that it really is very, very, good. I know that doesn't really help sorry."
It seems the price is strictly under embargo until the 29th December, when you'll be able to tune into QVC and find out for yourselves.
