The product is available SIM-free and network unlocked, so you can choose whatever operator you fancy. There is also a whole host of connectivity options, including tri-band wide-area wireless, WiFi 802.11a/b/g and Bluetooth 2.0. "Savvy individuals and enterprise users around the world are demanding access to all their information and applications wherever they go," said Dennis Moore, CEO, OQO. The computer is encased in a magnesium alloy chassis and has a shock mounted hard drive and drop detect technology. An optional docking station allows the e2 to be used as a normal desktop PC. When not in the dock, the e2uses a 58-key thumb keyboard and track stick. The EL backlit keyboard includes numberpad and SmartLock keys to enhance usability and functionality. there are also 18 keyboard shortcuts configured on the model e2 to quickly launch commonly used applications such as the OQO Wireless Dashboard. The machine will cost around £1099 + VAT, and will be available through companies such as eXpansys (www.expansys.com) and Dynamism (www.dynamism.com). More details here.
