Has Sky’s Anytime been bitten by another radioactive spider? Already spinning its top web powers by letting Sky customers download content online, it’s added a few more superhero skills to its repertoire.

For starters, users can now search the services using a standard web browser, rather than having to launch the Anytime software.

If they happen to be using a web browser on a computer that’s not in their house, no problem!

Simply set it to start downloading on your home PC remotely and it’ll be there waiting for you when you get home.

And if you’re looking for something interesting to download,
why not check out the new content in the documentary genre that’s been added.

The Sky Anytime service now includes content from channels such as The History Channel; National Geographic; The Biography Channel and the Crime & Investigation Network.

Sky has also upgraded the Anytime software to be available on Windows Vista for the first time.

And it’s not just Sky subscribers who are benefiting from the satellite broadcaster’s new superpowers.

Anyone else who fancies a bit of download TV can buy shows from channels such as Sky One, and Sky Arts for just a few quid each.

Hilary Perchard, head of advanced TV products at Sky, said the aim was to free viewers from schedules so they can enjoy the entertainment when they want, direct from their PC.

“At Sky we want to put power in the hands of the customer to define what, when and how they watch," she said.
