Klipsch this week showed off the iGroove SXT – a portable iPod speaker system it said has “genuine audiophile credentials”.

The US-based manufacturer said the iGroove SXT is a true two-way, stereo sound system that employs dual long-throw 6.4cm/2.5in woofers in a ported enclosure and dual 19mm/3/4in
MicroTractrix horn-loaded tweeters.

“Klipsch is the only company in this category to utilise horn technology, a technology that it has used and perfected in its hi-fi products for more than 60 years,” Klipsch said.

“The result is a design that delivers a richer, more lifelike sound as well as producing more output using less energy.

Key features include:
* Exclusive horn-loaded tweeter technology
* Charges any iPod with a 30-pin connector
* Universal well inserts allow assorted iPods to dock
* Compatible with other devices via auxiliary input
* S-video output; IR remote control
* iPod alarm clock instant wake functionality.

It’s available in a black finish with a black cloth grille for £99.99.
