Metal Gear Solid on Xbox 360 rumours go into overdrive

metal-gear-solid-4.jpgIt has been one of the most popular PlayStation exclusive titles for a long time, but if rumours are to be believed, Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots will no longer be confined to the PS3 as we could see a version for the Xbox 360 in 2009.

A recent posting on Xbox fan site XboxFamily, has claimed that the Konami-developed game will surface on the Microsoft platform.

"Metal Gear Solid 4 is coming to the Xbox 360. This is not a rumor. This is straight from a Konami distribution representative's mouth. The game is already in production and has been since early 2007," according to the report.

The report claimed that the representative of the company said that the game will appear on Xbox 360 some 12 to 14 months after it appears on the PS3 - this will probably make it one of the big releases not just in 2008 but also in 2009.

The report also featured a spokesperson from Microsoft who managed to say not much about whether the rumours were true or not and stretch that out to four paragraphs. "Every day we see rumors, most false, but some true, and we can't confirm/deny everything out there for any number of reasons," the spokesperson told XboxFamily.

Metal Gear Solid 4 is expected to hit the shelves this June and as reported by Absolute Gadget, the game needs to sell one million copies to make any money - putting it on two different consoles would indeed help that situation.
