While you are visiting the CES show in Las Vegas next week you may want to stop by the Dell stand and grasp in awe at its sleek new LCD widescreen monitor.

The 22-inch Dell Crystal display has been rumored for for a long while now, so it is good to see that it is not vapourware and boy does it impress with its looks. It was shown off at the show last year as a concept model but Dell has managed to push it out of the designer's office into production. The monito boasts a floating 4mm-thin tempered glass design and polished metal tripod stand.

It has a maximum resolution of 1680 x 1050 display, a 98 per cent colour gamut, 2000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, a 2ms response time, and integrated webcam and speakers. It's also Dell's first monitor to fsport a DisplayPort connection. Not only that, the display supports high definiton resolutions through DVI or HDMI as well.

Not only that, it features a built-in two megapixel webcam and built-in speakers. Touch controls run across the base of the monitor all wired along the glass with panache.

The monitor, however, will set you back around $1,199, but what cost style? (OK you could buy a Mac for that money and still get someting cool!). More info here.
