Page 1 of 2 As Valentines Day approaches the saying “two’s company, three’s a crowd” never seemed more apt. Thankfully that doesn’t extend to “O2’s company, 3’s a crowd”. Instead they have teamed up to create EyeVibe; which they claim is the UK’s largest mobile video community.
The love-in means the O2 platform LookAtMe! And 3’s SeemeTV now become EyeVibe, a user-generated bonanza of video clips. But the difference is users will now be able to make money from videos they upload onto the EyeVibe community. It will cost 10 pence to download a single clip, of which 10 per cent will go to the user who uploaded it. Though it won’t make you rich, you could at least wallow in the pleasure of knowing you can make an arse of yourself and get paid for it. Absolute Gadget was present at the announcement today and both 3 and O2 reckon the platform will revolutionize social networking. The goal is to make user-generated content as easy to share as text messages. (Continued on next page)
