As Valentine’s Day approaches it’s time for the nation to start getting all lovey-dovey. But according to a survey from electrical goods store Comet, 25 million Brits would give up sex for a 50-inch Plasma TV.
Apparently, us British are known for always having 'sex on the brain', but if the Comet survey is anything to go by we’re more in love with our gadgets. Surprisingly, nearly half (47 per cent) of the male population would be willing to take a vow of celibacy for six months to get a 50-inch plasma TV, compared to just over a third (35 per cent) of women. The act of luurve wasn’t the only thing Brits were willing to give up. Just under a quarter of those surveyed would give up smoking and eating chocolate, while under a fifth of men were willing to give up watching the footy. Maybe the government should stop with their anti-smoking laws and just give everyone new TV’s. We don’t smoke, but we’d be willing to take it up for a day and then give up to get our hands on a 50-inch telly. Maybe it won’t be 2015 before we all have 60-inch TVs... |
