Pioneer Kuro 42-inch TVIf you’re thinking about buying a new TV, the second most likely thing you do after checking out Absolute Gadget is ask friends and acquaintances what theirs is like. If you’d prefer to take a shortcut, independent review website Reevoo has analysed more than 15,000 customer reviews of televisions bought last year – with Pioneer coming out top. Shoppers voted Pioneer Kuro their favourite brand of television in 2007, putting the company higher than Panasonic, Sony, Samsung and LG.

"Pioneer is delighted that the Kuro has been chosen as the favourite television brand of 2007 by Reevoo users,” said Heidi Johnson-Cash, general manager for marketing at Pioneer GB.

“Pioneer's aim is simply to make the best televisions on the market and we are delighted to have achieved this objective, receiving acclaim from the press, industry experts and most importantly our customers."

Reevoo collects reviews on behalf of around 50 online retailers and has images, features and price comparison for more than 800 televisions on its website.

The top five TV brands for 2007 according to Reevoo:

3.      Sony
4.      Samsung
5.      LG

The bottom five TV brands for 2007 according to Reevoo:
1.      Swisstec
2.      UMC
3.      Polaroid
4.      Logik
