Pink FreeLoader 8.0Fancy charging your gadgets using your own mini solar-panel? Then say hello to the FreeLoader 8.0, which its creators describe as a “lean, ‘green’ portable charging machine” providing free, continuous power for all the latest mobile gadgets.

The FreeLoader 8.0 Portable Solar Charger by Solar Technology charges a multitude of the latest mobile gadgets using the power of the sun.

That includes devices such as: digital cameras, iPods, PDAs, PSPs and mobile phones, and even supports a direct connection to two of the most recent mobile gadgets available on the market, the iPhone and the iTouch (see a full list on the following page).

Solar Technology says the Freeloader 8.0 is conveniently mobile, boasting a durable casing for hard-core mobility and the ability to fold into a stylish minimal device to slip into a pocket or handbag.

“Extremely reliable and easy to use, the FreeLoader 8.0 Portable Solar Charger uses the latest in cutting edge solar technology to convert solar energy into electricity, making power readily available for a wealth of popular mobile devices,” a fully-charged company statement said.

“For example, the FreeLoader 8.0 boasts the ability to power an iPod for 18 hours, a mobile phone for 44 hours, a PSP for 2.5 hours and a PDA for 22 hours.”

The device also stores energy on its own internal battery, which holds its charge for up to three months.

And if you’re worried about its effectiveness in the grey UK climate, Solar Technology claims FreeLoader 8.0’s extra-sensitive solar panels are efficient at absorbing light in cloudy and dim conditions.

The Freeloader 8.0 is available in both Hot Pink and Cool Aluminium Silver for only £29.99.

But the best thing we can see about its ability to charge such a wide variety of gadgets? You can leave those multiple adaptors at home...
