Medion E3212 satnavAldi: the very epitome of the phrase ‘stack it high, sell it cheap’ (which is how Tesco started off, before you scoff). Medion obviously recognises that Aldi shoppers like a good bargain and it will be putting its budget satellite navigation device in there to tempt them...

Medion says its E3212 sat-nav device has a generous features set – including free TMC – but will only cost £119.99 including VAT.

“Consumers are becoming increasingly aware of the value offered by buying technology alongside their groceries,” said Rick Munday, marketing manager at Medion UK.

“Medion is at the forefront of this trend, having sold best-value products through large retailers for many years.”

Munday said the Medion E3212 is one of the least expensive sat-navs on the market to include RDS TMC traffic updates at no extra cost.

“By alerting drivers to hold-ups on the plotted route, Medion’s E3212 is able to help avoid the frustration of time wasted in traffic jams,” he said.

Detailed UK and Ireland maps on the device are backed up by mapping of major routes of Europe, enabling users of the Medion E3212 to navigate between major destinations on the continent.

The gloss black design houses a 3.5-inch full-colour TFT touchscreen, which shows a choice of arrow, 2D or 3D displays.

Medion’s GoPal 4.0 software also keeps drivers informed of their actual speed, estimated time of arrival and the distance remaining to the destination.

Before you start your car and head for your nearest Aldi, the Medion E3212 will be launching in stores nationwide from Thursday 13 March 2008.

The device comes with a 36-month warranty.
