Asus Bamboo desktop PCWe didn’t realise that computer manufacturer Asus was into panda baiting. But the black-and-white creatures would definitely be interested in the company’s latest range of concept computers made from bamboo...

According to our friends at The Inq, the company has used the material to create laptops, desktops and monitors.

Asus has been showing off the computer kit at the Cebit trade show in Germany.

While the Asus Bamboo desktop is only in the concept line of products, Asus has form for actually producing what it shows off.

Leather-clad laptops were shown off two years ago and are now available, with several lines having leather trim.

The Inq is more definite about the bamboo laptops, stating that: “you will be able to get a bamboo laptop from Asus. They are going in to limited production with these parts sometime in 2008.”
