The latest watch in Casio’s high-performance collection pulled up today. The motorsports-inspired WVQ-570E-1AVER is a four-motor Chronograph watch in yellow and black with carbon-fibre pattern styling on its face.
It also comes with Wave Ceptor radio-controlled technology to pick up the time calibration signals from radio transmitters. “So when travelling, these watches can be changed to the local European time at the touch of a button and automatically adjust themselves each day to ensure perfect, to the second timing,” a perfectly-timed Casio statement said. The WVQ-570E-1AVER automatically adjusts to time changes, so the 30 March daylight savings won’t throw you. As ever Casio reminds us that certain parts of Europe (including Southern Spain, Portugal and Greece) are currently outside the Wave Ceptor coverage areas. The WVQ-570E-1AVER is also water-resistant up to 100 metres, has a stainless steel case and case back and features 1/100th digital and 1/20th analogue chronographs. The new model is all about the car connection, though – and the WVQ-570E-1AVER has been produced in support of the Casio-sponsored British Touring Car Championship SEAT team. Motor-sport junkies will love the speed indicator, which gives a visual representation of average speed based on measured time against distance travelled. There’s no official word on what it's supposed to cost, but Amazon.co.uk already stocks it for £89.99.
