Page 1 of 2 It’s certainly a good time to be looking for a new mobile phone contract. Companies are shying away from the high-cost, long lock-in deals of yesteryear. Take Virgin Mobile’s latest innovation, the Liberty SIM.
Small monthly cost plus 30-day notice period plus decent call times should equal happy customers. Don’t take Virgin’s word for it, though. Rob Barnes, head of broadband and mobile at Moneysupermarket.com, took a break from pushing his trolley full of cash [It’s not that kind of Moneysupermarket - Ed] to big up the deal. “The Virgin Liberty SIM tariff offers great value for money in a very competitive market,” Barnes said. “This is perfect for customers who are happy with the phone they already have and provides a significant saving over similar value contract plus handset deals.” The Liberty SIM offers a monthly rate contract of between £15 and £30, a contract cancellation period of just 30 days and a choice in how your deal is split between talk and text. For example, the SIM-only offer at £15 would see users choose between 300 minutes and 300 texts or 150 minutes and 1,000 texts. (Continued on next page)
