If you are looking to see what a new laptop with Intel's new Centrino 2 technology will look like then we suggest you take a gander at a couple of new computers from Toshiba.

The company has updated its Satellite and Satellite Pro range, with new models for both consumers and business professionals.

The new Satellite range come with a glossy black finish and a slim-line chassis designs.

The laptops have a textured palm rest and super-smooth touchpad with metallic mouse buttons. Underneath  the TruBrite display is a quick launch multimedia bar, with "feather-touch" buttons and soft glow LED lighting, to allow instant access to videos, music, photos and gaming.

As for using one of these for home entertainment, the Satellite range boast brand new Intel and AMD processors alongside ATI Mobility Radeon graphics technology, these laptops come loaded with Windows Vista Home Premium Edition software and a DVD SuperMulti drive.

It also sports a whopping 640GB hard drive in some models and also included is dual hard drive support - so you can store all your videos, music and pictures as well as the rest of the street where you live (probably). As well as the TruBrite display it also comes with Harmon Kardon speakers and Dolby Sound Room technology provide full-bodied audio to match.

If webcams are your thing the laptops come with an integrated web camera as well as a built-in microphone for making internet and video calls. There is also a featuer called "USB Sleep ‘n' Charge" - which allows MP3 players and mobile phones to be charged, even when the laptops are in sleep mode.

Here are some of the different configurations:

SATELLITE A300

  • Classic, sleek black design - with 15.4" TruBrite screen
  • Great performance at a great price point

SATELLITE U400
  • Designed to offer portability without compromise on performance
  • Features a 13.3" TruBrite display and weighs only two kilogrammes

SATELLITE P300
  • Huge 17" TruBrite display, perfect for movies and gaming
  • Large screen makes it an ideal desktop replacement model

Full specifications and pricing will be confirmed in Q2 2008, no doubt when Intel unveils those shiny new Centrino 2 chips.
