The Acer 6920 and 8920 lappies have been created to allow for true 16:9 widescreen playback, using 16-inch and 18.4-inch screens. Acording to Acer, that also gives 20 per cent more screen space on the 18.4-inch laptop, and 14 per cent more on the 16-inch version. They also include second generation Dolby Home Theatre and Acer says it is first to market with full surround sound on the 18.4-inch model. Everything is presented in Dolby (5.1 on the 18.4-inch, 2.1 on the 16-inch) with technology included as standard on the motherboard. A Cinedash media console also allows you to access content for playback without having to access the whole computer. A fingerprint scanner will also provide more than secure logon to the laptops. Scanning a finger will also allow you to go to a password protected website, or open an application or file. Since one function can be set to each individual finger, that’s 10 possible shortcuts.
