The 16-inch Acer Gemstone Blue will sell for £699 at its most basic level, with the £899 model adding Blu-ray and a processor upgrade.

A £999 version will buy a further processor upgrade, plus full HD screen and a TV tuner, while the top of the range £1,149 model will have an even offer another processor boost and Windows Vista Ultimate.

Meanwhile, the 18.4-inch model will come with a 320GB hard drive for £899; offer a processor upgrade for £1,099.

The range also boosts its processing speed and combines two 250GB hard drives with Nvidia GeForce graphics technology, a TV tuner and a remote control - if you’re willing to pay £1,249.

A £1,399 model offers even more of all that...

The entire series will be available to buy in mid-April.
