This time it’s the turn of Space Ace, following last year’s release of Dragon’s Lair. Chances are unless you’re brand new to the gaming market these titles won’t need any introduction. In fact, the story of Space Ace mirrors a story the three creators tell in the disc’s extras, about how technology has moved on during their lifetimes. “Don mentioned earlier he was talking to some young people and said people were listening to a gramophone and the teenager looked at him and said, ‘What’s a gramophone?’” Gary Goldman reveals. “Don says, ‘You know, like a phonograph.’ And he says, ‘What’s a phonograph?’ ‘You know, like a record.’ ‘What’s a record?’ ‘Well it’s sort of like a CD, only bigger and black...’” If you want to see how that actually relates pretty closely to the Space Ace series, check out the Progression Reel, which splices together comparative footage from the Commodore Amiga, Deluxe Pack, 20th Anniversary CD-Rom, DVD, Laserdisc and High Definition versions.
