In fact, the three creators can’t agree if there have been 18 or 19 different versions of the game on different platforms over the years. With all that development time, it’s a shame Digital Leisure hasn't improved the gameplay over the years. Sure, every frame has been cleaned to make it shine for HD (although some graininess remains). And yes, additions such as the ability to watch the whole game unfold without having to play through it all are a bonus. However, this is still a very simple system by today’s high standards (although it’s still a little bit jumpy at times even on the superpowered Sony PlayStation 3, which has the benefit of letting you play with a game pad rather than a DVD remote control). A single action is required to continue past each tiny bite of the game, using a choice of four directional arrow buttons on your player’s remote control or hitting Select to fire. That means you can simply push every button to find the correct choice, wasting up to four lives to learn how to get to the next bit. Your only punishment for this slow learning process is a mind-numbing repetition of taunts from the bad guy Borf. And why are there no save codes to type in to take you to a particular section? You’re not going to want to play your way through the whole game every time you put it in… (Continued on next page)
