Page 2 of 3 The company has also refreshed its entry-level range of home cinema receivers, with the £300 TX-SR576 and the £250 TX-SR506 home cinema receivers. Onkyo said these new 7.1-channel receivers offer a tempting blend of features and facilities, along with “best-in-class” audio performance “There are plenty of supermarkets that will still happily sell you an plasticky, all-in-one home cinema system for under £100 – complete with subwoofer and speakers! – but few would now dare claim that these lacklustre offerings represent the pinnacle of home cinema,” said an official Onkyo statement. “Onkyo refuses to have any truck with that end of the market. We believe it is better to raise consumer expectations and performance standards than to pander to a ‘lowest cost rules’ mentality. The Onkyo TX-SR576 and TX-SR506 7.1-channel home cinema receivers include: * 7 x 130W power output * Three 1080P-capable HDMI v.1.2a inputs/one output (TX-SR576) * Three 1080P-capable HDMI pass-through inputs/one output (TX-SR506) * Onboard decoding for Dolby Digital Plus/DTS ES (TX-SR576) * Decoding for Dolby Digital EX, Dolby ProLogic IIx, DTS-ES, DTS 96/24, and DTS Neo:6 * Music Optimiser for MP3/AAC tracks * Audyssey Dynamic EQ loudness correction * Powered Zone 2 * iPod compatible (via optional Onkyo DS-A1x/DS-A2x docks/chargers) * RIHD (Remote Interactive over HDMI) control system (TX-SR576) Again, both models are available in May 2008, in either black or silver finishes.
