BT Vision knows you love movies. So much so, it has partnered with Universal Pictures to offer you a choice of films every month for a £5 flat fee.
The PictureBox subscription movie package allows BT Vision customers to watch films on demand whenever they want. The £5-a-month fee gives a choice of 28 films, including titles such as The Bourne Ultimatum, Knocked Up, Atonement, The Kingdom and Elizabeth: The Golden Age. BT said that many of the PictureBox films will have not yet been seen on ‘free-to-air’ television channels in the UK, providing an additional incentive for customers to sign up. Films will be refreshed constantly, with new titles being added each week. Marc Watson, commercial director of TV services at BT Vision, said he was delighted to have reached the agreement with NBC Universal. “PictureBox represents a significant new development for BT Vision, and we are confident that the combination of current and library titles, refreshed on a regular basis, will prove highly popular with our customers," he said. Belinda Menendez, president of NBC Universal International Television Distribution, said the service had proven popular in the US and the company would be rolling it out in Europe, Asia and Latin America. A year ago BT signed a deal with HBO and Universal Music to show music videos and TV programmes through its video-on-demand service. The PictureBox service will launch on 5 May. |
