BT puts on a PodShow to entertain

BT PodShow logoBT has officially launched its online entertainment network today, hosting over one million hours of “award-winning entertainment available to download any time, anywhere, on any device, including iPods and MP3 players.”

According to BT, the PodShow service mixes elements of video and music sharing, with social networking aspects.

“BT PodShow allows users to collect and share their favourite videos and music, upload their own unique content and build an entourage of friends at the click of a mouse,” a BT suit said.

Music content includes an “innovative” new show called Flyposter, with host Gill Mills introducing the hottest new talent.

Meanwhile, games fanatics can get their fix with Games Weasel, offering up to date news, reviews, interviews and game gossip and currently number one in the iTunes UK store gaming chart.

Those looking to rock out should access Legends of Rock, showcasing intimate details from the golden age of rock and unique live footage never seen before.

In comedy, OJ Borg leads the way with his mix of Monty Pythonesque insight into the weird and wonderful people that grace the globe in his show 11th Commandment: Thou Shalt Entertain Us.

Those looking for the pick of the podcasts should join Brainiac babe Josephine Laurence, as she searches the network for the most innovative picks from the world of podcasting and video blogging in her show Podfinder UK.

In 2008 BT plans to add a variety of new shows, including a cooking show, a topical sports round-up and a gossip insider and entertainment programme.

Phew, we managed to get through the whole description of BT PodShow without referring to it as a YouTube killer. Doh!
