He’s a global superstar and typically his current single - ‘Love in this Club’ - is doing great both in sales and on the music video circuit. Now Usher is set to join the Sony Ericsson club after the mobile phone trumpeters announced an exclusive partnership with the artist.
The campaign will include tour sponsorship and revolve around the W350 and W980 Walkman phone, due to be released later this year. It’s great news for Sony Ericsson customers who are fans of the artist, as they’ll gain access to exclusive music content as well as “unprecedented access to the artist”. “For me, Usher is the ultimate performer and working with an artist such as him is an ideal fit for us,” reveals John Bernard, music marketing manager at Sony Ericsson. “Here we are at the start of an electrifying launch campaign, poised to deliver a totally 360-degree experience for all consumers and Usher fans alike, it's truly an exciting prospect.” “With clear audio technology on Sony Ericsson handsets we have moved to the next level of music on your mobile with the increased quality of the listening experience,” he added. The deal will feature exclusive competitions and the chance to meet Usher on the set of a video shoot. Usher himself believes this is the perfect time for him to get involved with the Sony Ericsson brand. “This is a great partnership for me as an artist. Sony Ericsson is a young vibrant brand and with its Walkman phones making a lot of noise out there right now its perfect timing for us all, so yeah man. ‘United We Stand.’” Can you feel the love? To celebrate the partnership and forthcoming release of his latest album 'Here I Stand', Usher will perform an exclusive intimate show hosted at London's Indigo venue docklands on May 22nd to a lucky few.
