Page 1 of 2 According to Acer, gamers are “notoriously demanding” and “tend to be high tech experts”. No, the computer manufacturer isn’t having a pop at them. In fact it’s wheeled out a new line of PCs for passionate game players…
The Aspire Predator desktop PC come in an “original, aggressive chassis design” that Acer says conceals the latest generation
technologies.
“Fans will appreciate the deep metallic copper coloured housing perfectly representing the power it encloses,” an official Acer statement said.
“The front of the body can be raised, accompanied by a world first optical bay mechanism to reveal a rewritable DVD and Blu-Ray reader.”
USB, audio ports and a multi-card reader are easily accessed, while blue LEDs add an aesthetic touch to the Predator's face.
However, Acer said the machine’s most striking feature is the fact it offers easy access to the Hard Disks via a special door on the front of the lower part of the chassis.
“The standard Acer Easy-swap Hard Drive system makes the 4 Serial ATA 3Gb/s high capacity hard disks removable even when the PCis turned on and in use,” Acer said.
“This rapid access and replacement of hard disks transforms the new Acer Aspire Predator into an easily expandable, scalable
platform.
Dual LAN technology permits “blazing” file transfers and optimises system performance, with a teaming mode permitting two connections to work at the same time for network redundancy so “there will be no end to your gaming fun”.
