Sky top on customer satisfaction

Sky logoDigital TV provider Sky has beat out rivals Freeview and Virgin Media to win the best overall satisfaction category in this year’s uSwitch Digital TV Customer Satisfaction Awards.

Sky scooped first place with a customer satisfaction rating of 76 per cent.

However, it was a close result with Freeview and Virgin Media coming in second and third with satisfaction ratings of 72 per cent and 68 per cent respectively.

Freeview came top when it came to value for money with 75 per cent, while Virgin Media was second with 66 per cent and Sky on 57 per cent.

Sky and Virgin Media tied over who had the best customer service with 59 per cent, while Freeview was way back with just 26 per cent.

"Good service, excellent support, lovely set-top box with hard-disk, very good continuity of service, very good customer support and tech support."

Freeview
"It does exactly what it should: a limited number of free digital channels with no need for a dish, or a cable connection."

The yearly uSwitch survey was carried out by YouGov and was conducted online in January 2008, with 9,897 Digital TV respondents from adults of all ages, socio-economic groups and regions of Britain.
