Canon’s latest addition to its HD range of camcorders has got the company all a flutter. No only is the HF10 small enough to fit in the palm of your hand, Canon claims it is the perfect tool for “freecording”.
“Freecording is about shooting differently and recording without rules,” a Canon statement said. “The Freecording movement aims to break down the barriers associated with traditional camcorder use – that you only use them to record holidays, events or a baby’s first steps – and inspires people to simply pick up a camcorder, find a new perspective and just shoot, no matter what the occasion.” The HF10 uses Canon’s HD camera system of lens, image sensor and processor to record in the highest HD quality, “capturing what you shoot just as you see it”. Its internal 16GB memory can shoot up to six hours or extra footage can be captured to a removable SD card. And as Flash memory involves no moving parts, Canon said all footage is better protected against potential knocks and bumps during action packed filming.
