Asus is not a company to rest on its laurels, while others are busy coming up with rival tiny laptops it announced that it has a few more devices up its sleeve (presumably literally)! The latest Atom-powered Eee PC models will be available in Britain on 1 July, according to the company (and very near to a couple of the staff's birthdays - how nice!) The Eee PC 901, comes with an 8.9in display and will set you back £319 whether you choose Linux or XP. If you go down the Linux route you get a nice big 20GB solid-state, XP users have to settle for a more modest 12GB drive. There is also the Eee PC 1000, which features a 10in screen - but no price details have been announced on this one. Both devices have Intel's new low-power 1.6GHz Atom processors, which were launched at the Computex trade show last week. This will come with either 40GB of SSD or an 80GB 1.8in hard drive. Owners will also get 20GB of free online storage and the devices come with Bluetooth. The inegrated 0.3-megapixel webcam of the original Eee PC 700 has been replaced with a 1.3 megapixels and the wireless now goes all the way up to 11n. The Eee PC boasts better battery life and power management, which wasn't all that in the Eee 700. More on the Eee PC here.
