OK, so we are never going to buy a 1982 Pontiac Trans Am and fight crime across the US while wearing a leather jacket exposing a manly hairy chest but we'd rather like the idea of Kitt giving us directions to the nearest petrol station. So thumbs up to Mio, who have come out with a Knight Rider-themed satnav.
The Knight Industries Two Thousand-themed GPS unit gives all directions
using William Daniels, the original voice behind Kitt itself. And the device
comes in a piano black colour complete with dual anamorphic equalizers
(big flashing red lights to you and me) that mimic Kitt's "eyes" in the
original TV series. Although it can't see in infrared and X-ray
(shame). The display also features a tiny Kitt car to display your
current whereabouts.
When you turn it on it will speak "Hello Michael, where do you want to
go today?" Presumably, you say hairdressers for a tight perm, down to
the clothes shop for a leather jacket, then meet up with Pamela for an
all-night booze bender.
There are no details of when this Knight Rider themed satnav will be on sale, but its cost is likely to be around $270 (£135/€160).
