Those of you who frequent the Sandals resort chain - you lucky monkeys - now have another luxury on offer: Wi-Fi. According to Ruckus Wireless, it has been selected to give guests “unprecedented Wi-Fi speed and coverage” throughout 20 Caribbean vacation properties.
That will be thanks to an all-802.11n, indoor-outdoor Wireless LAN infrastructure, which Ruckus said was based on its award-winning Smart Mesh Networking technology. The Wi-Fi service will span more than 750 acres of resort property, supporting more than 5,000 guest rooms across the 20 resorts. The new high-capacity network will allow Sandals to offer ultra-fast broadband access for guests, digital signage, Voice over IP, point-of-sale and video installations. Ruckus said the network uses recent advances in Ruckus Smart Mesh Networking that enables its indoor and outdoor access points to be deployed without Ethernet cabling and complex wireless topology design.
Selina Lo, president and CEO of Ruckus Wireless, said Sandals Resorts is the perfect case study on “how to do 802.11n right”. |
