The Walkman range of phones have been around for about three years now and so to celebrate its emergence from the terrible twos, the company is launching a new range of music-based phones.

On the 22nd July, two phones are expected to be revealed to a somewhat-interested general public. Alicia, also know as the W707 and Feng (the W302) will at last see the official light of day (despite tons of "leaked" pics on the internet). The W707 looks to be a cut-price version of the W980, sans the 8GB of storage, no autofocus digital camera, one speaker and no FM transmitter.

The W302 looks to come with 2 megapixel camera without autofocus or flash (surely that can't be right!)

Other phones are expected to come out soon afterwards. Such as the the Linda, (W595), the Remi which is a candybar-type phone with a 3.2 megapixel camera and Patty (W902). No doubt the company will run out of hilarous codenames for their new phones and call the rest Dave, Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick and Titch.

The company has launched a website which will no doubt showcase the phones. "It is now almost three years to the date since Sony Ericsson re-invented how people listened to music on the move by launching the first Walkman phone. On July 22nd Sony Ericsson will reveal the next chapter in the Walkman phone story." Whoa, we can't wait. Hang on, where's our invite?
