Kenbuster ponders name change

StuffIt was called the Kenbuster because it helped people beat the fines associated with forgetting to pay the congestion charge (as set up by London Mayor Ken Livingstone). And while the device is still happily carrying out that duty, with a dizzy blond in office some people might think it should be renamed the BorisBuster...

This being a democracy, a vote will sort that issue out...

A survey has been launched at www.KenBuster.co.uk to find out if customers think the name should be changed in the light of Boris Johnson taking over from Ken as Mayor of London in 2008.

“Now that Boris has been in the role for a few months, it will be interesting to see whether London thinks he’s doing a good job so far,” said a statement from the gadget company.

“Boris has certainly started things off on the right note concerning the Congestion Charge, scrapping the £25 ‘gas-guzzler’ charge introduced by Ken, as well as initiating a full review on the CC Western Extension,” the completely non-political statement continued.

Inventor Matthew McCluskey said he was very happy with the brand name KenBuster, since the Congestion Charge is Ken Livingstone’s unhappy legacy to Londoners.

“However, since we see our customers as the driving force behind our business, we thought it would be interesting to see what they think,” he admitted.

In addition, the survey asks whether London will ‘suffer’ or ‘benefit’ under Boris’ leadership.

The results should reveal how much faith Londoner’s put in Boris Johnson as the new Mayor of London.
