Alcatel V212 zebra phone for WoolworthsAlcatel has launched a stripped-back (or should that be striped back?) mobile phone, which costs a mere £14.99 exclusively in UK retailer Woolworths. The V212 candybar handset is a black and white zebra-print model that is designed to be basic but stylish.

Alcatel said it was “extremely lightweight and tactile” thanks to “a smooth glossy finish” and the fact it weighs just 65g.

“The affordable mobile phone firm was asked to design a handset especially for family retailer Woolworths, and came up with this eye-catching zebra print fascia and touch friendly handset to satisfy its customer demand,” said an official Alacatel statement.

“The focus of the V212 handset is not on the technological capabilities, but rather the overall design enabling customers of all ages to have access to a stylish mobile phone.”

It’s available on a pay as you go contract complete with stylish accessories including jewellery, phone sock and a colour coordinated box.
