Now DS ultra-hit Dr Kawashima’s Brain Training: How Old is Your Brain? has set a UK games record with its 80th successive week in the Top 10.
The, ahem, “lifestyle accessory” – made famous by a gloriously surreal advert involving Nicole Kidman yelping madly at the screen while dressed all in white for some reason – lands at number eight in the UK All-Formats Top 10, as compiled by ChartTrack. The angular professor has beaten out none other than Lara Croft, who previously held the record with 79 weeks for the original Tomb Raider on Sega Saturn, PlayStation, PC and Mac back in 1996. Mario Kart Wii and Wii Fit take the two top spots this week. Rumours that Nintendo execs plan to blow all the money currently flooding in by razing the Tokyo Tower and replacing it with a giant statue of Mario giving the finger to all and sundry were strenuously made up just now.
