Nikon D90Nikon has, ahem, put us in the picture about the Nikon D90, which “offers truly cinematic results, stunning image quality and innovative high-performance features inherited from Nikon’s new-generation DX-format flagship D300.”

The D90 camera has outdone its Nikon predecessors. This time, it seems that the Nikon have concentrated on the high-def video features and other qualities that make a good camera. Having a good camera nowadays has become a fad with the proliferation of cheap mobile phones wiith built-in cameras.

The Nikon D90 boasts 12.3 mega pixels, a 3-inch monitor, CMOS image sensor and Expeed image processing system. It also offers advanced features such as live view, scene recognition, Active D-lighting and picture control and an ISO sensitivity range from 200 – 3200 (ISO 6400 equivalent on Hi1 and ISO 100 equivalent on Lo1.)

The movie setting claims to “capture JPEG at superb quality levels,” and offers a higher image quality, a shallow depth of field and exceptional ISO performance while recording in low-light conditions.

“We are convinced that this new camera will appeal to all passionate photographers looking for the next step in creativity,” said Toru Uematsu, senior manager at Nikon Europe.

Nikon’s wide range of lenses offers great variety from fisheye to wide-angle to super-telephoto.

Movies can even be played on the camera with sound, thanks to its “uniquely powerful” speaker / microphone system.

The D90 body is available at £699.99, while the camera and an 18-105mm F/3.5-5.6G ED VR lens costs £849.99.
