Samsung reveals UK Android Galaxy Portal phone

Samsung has unleashed its latest Android-powered mobile phone in the UK, the Galaxy Portal.

The Googled handset boasts a 3.2-inch touchscreen, a 3.2 megapixel camera, a 1GB memory card, assisted GPS, bluetooth, 3G and wireless. The 115mm by 57mm by 13.2mm smartphone can accept on Micro SD memory cards of up to 32GB capacity, though it only comes with a 1GB card inside the box.

The phone, also known as the i5700, comes with Layar, a navigation guide that can tell you where the nearest restaurant or bar is, handy if you are a journalist. I also sports the Cupcake (1.5) version of Android.

The phone was first spotted back in September last year, but for reason known only to Samsung it was delayed until this January.

The Samsung Galaxy Portal is free from T-Mobile when you sign up to a £23-per-month plans for 18 months.
