After weeks of speculation, rumours and leaked pictures, Creative has unleashed its new iPod rival with some features heavily influenced by Microsoft's differently successful Zune player.

Creative have been lagging behind mp3 upstarts Apple for a while and not because Creative's stuff is duff - far from it. So, it's good to see that the company keeps on popping out with new kit to tempt us. Called the X-Fi, this player sports Wi-Fi and a host of communications features. It also looks good too!

Roberts is preparing to launch “the world's first solar-powered digital radio”, which it said capitalises on “all the benefits of DAB and solar energy whilst avoiding the cost and environmental consequences of disposable batteries”.

MusicStation has scooped the title of the UK's largest digital music subscription service, according to its creator Omnifone. The MusicStation service, which is available exclusively on Vodafone in the UK, has overtaken subscription services that run on PCs.

Microsoft is very good at shifting operating systems, office suites and has had very good success in North America with its next-gen Xbox 360 games console. One place where it seems to be in trouble it is answer to the Apple iPod, the Zune. Now, US games retailer GameStop has announced that it is to stop selling the differently-successful mp3 player in its stores.

That naughty minx Gear4 teased and teased us about its latest product, but the Duo was finally unveiled to a room full of champagne swigging journos last night. And while our head isn't up for many bangin' tunes this morning, if we'd fancied bringing the Duo iPod dock with us to work we could have easily done so.
