All the recent attention might have been on Apple’s iPhone, but the next product from the company’s stable is supposed to be the Apple TV streaming media system. However, Steve Jobs’ boys and girls seem to have overestimated their ability to produce the goods, as Apple today confirmed a delay in shipping.
Apple TV sets that were supposed to be broadcasting by the end of February won’t now be available until mid-March. While that’s not exactly a delay of PS3-style proportions, it is still a minor embarrassment. According to reports, those with pre-orders still claim their shipping date says 28 February, although following Apple’s statement it is more likely to be 5 March. The $300 version released in the US stores up to 50 hours of television footage, streams media from personal computers and offers wireless, HDMI and USB 2.0 connections.
