EU battery rules come into force

USBCellBritain is facing millions in fines from the European Union unless it recycles its used batteries. The new EU directive, which Britain signed up to in 2006, states that Britain must improve its battery recycling by more than 700 per cent by the year 2012 to avoid the substantial fines.

Spammers using social networking to dodge filters

LinkedIn logoCybercriminals are avoiding spam filters by sending messages via a social networking site, according to security company Sophos. The firm warned those using the business networking website LinkedIn that scammers are using it to try and find potential victims.
