Introduced with the subject line “LG's New LCD Monitor Does It All”, the Flatron M8W series of monitors promises to fill any hole you have in your home life – be it computing or entertainment needs. The range includes the 19-inch Flatron M198WA, the 20-inch M208WA and the 22-inch M228WA widescreen monitor TVs.
LG reckons the sexy spacesavers (“take a TV and monitor into the bedroom? No, I just LG and go”) are optimised for HD content and feature easy connectivity. “Our FLATRON M8W series is perfect for those who want their monitor to do it all – it is ideal not only for gamers but also for general entertainment enthusiasts,” said Louise Walsh, LG Electronics’ product manager. “FLATRON M8W series provides a wide variety of digital A/V connections for camcorders, DVD players, game consoles and HD sources – from Composite to S-Video, Scart and Component.” However, the missing ingredient there is obviously the key acronym HDMI. While we could get all hung up on that, lets concentrate on its DVI input, TV tuner, built-in speakers (3W x 2) and 170/170 viewing angle instead. The M8W range is also pretty flexible and Walsh said the monitors allow users to switch from watching live TV to more productive tasks on the computer in only a push of a button. The 19-inch model has 1440x900 resolution; while the 20 and 22-inch editions offer 1680x1050 resolution. The whole range has a contrast ratio of 3000:1 and 5ms response time. The new LCD Flatron M8W monitor series will debut in Europe later this month. |
