We often find ourselves having to replace mobile phones that have been dropped from a great height (OK maybe the ones we don't like so much or have gotten bored with), but Samsung now has a mobile phone that is tough enough to withstand just about anything you can throw at it (or indeed throw it at).

Hackers, what a clever bunch of people they are. Some of them have even managed to make the runaway success that is the Wii, somehow run homebrew games. (Although if homebrew games are anything like homebrew beer, we'd advise you to steer well clear of them!) 

It's that time of the year with gadget enthusiasts pack their bags and head for the sunnier climbs of Las Vegas and the Consumer Electronics Show (CES). Among the delights on offer are projectors for your mobile phone, monster television sets and high-definition wireless streaming. 

Avaya seems to be completely ignoring our fears that the whole world is becoming so obsessed with their gadgets that work is taking over (come on people: the mantra is work to live, not live to work). It is telling European employees to add Apple’s iconic iPhone to their Christmas wish-lists, knowing there’s a good business case.

Here at Absolute Gadget we are all trying to do our bit for the environment, turning the volume down a notch on our iPod speakers and eating our mung beans raw instead of being deep fried on a bed of minced cow. However our phones appear to contain a lot of nasty chemicals that will no doubt kill dolphins much in the same way Maya from Heroes kills people every time she starts crying! Luckily for us Nokia has a solution (to the phone, not Maya!)
